Ugh. I really regret my last 90s Monday post.
Freedom ’76 has played on repeat in the background of my consciousness ever since. This week has been stressful, and that song made an inappropriate, somewhat mocking soundtrack to my internal mayhem.
Soooo…
This Monday, to diffuse my aforementioned stress (and hopefully to distract you from yours) I’m sharing five of my favorite blogs on WordPress. They’re earworm-free and full of cynicisms, witticisms, and hijinks.
Please enjoy!
Bob Poposki shares his observations on the weirdness of our species, complete with existential angst and revelations about our hopeless stupidity. He uses words like “tomfoolery,” sells funky socks, and has a last name that ends in “ski,” so he’s down with me.
How do I describe Samara’s blog? Some of her posts make me laugh coffee through my nose, others have left me in such despair I could barely go on with my day. Prepare accordingly.
Ask Sexy Stalin, The Byronic Man is the crusader against somberness and the tireless defender of hilarity. He’s also just a really nice guy. Shh. Don’t tell anybody.
Creative humour, satire and other bad ideas by Ross Murray. By the way, Ross is Canadian. Haven’t you noticed that Canadians are funnier than Americans?
He also blogs without pants on. Bonus!
I think the name says it all. Behold the results of Aussa Loren’s poor decision-making skills, and be grateful that she’s made her outrageous mistakes so that you don’t have to.
What about you? What are your favorite blogs on WordPress?
I like, well love, all the blogs you mentioned except that humans are weird one. That guys an asshole.
You are too kind.
Thanks for the linkage. It was very pants of you — SWEET of you! Sorry.
Thank you for being you, Ross. I’m still waiting for the drinking tips. Were they posted before I found your blog? I could use some help refining my skills.
Honestly, it was just a name I liked, one that gets increasingly regrettable as the blog gets older (and I do too). It’s essentially a tattoo. That said: here is the extent of my actual drinking tips for teens: https://rossmurray1.wordpress.com/2013/06/06/drinking-tips-for-teens-prom-edition/
Sorry to be another one of those who actually asked for drinking tips. I couldn’t think of anything cleverer to say and I figured I’d just annoy you instead.
But I enjoyed your suggestions for the next generation. Wow, Canadian kids get a full three more years of legal drinking on us?
FYI: A bad ass martini is possible. The key is to omit the vermouth.
Well, 18 in Quebec, Manitoba and Alberta, 19 in the other provinces. Either way, 21 is ridiculous.
Woo! Thanks for the shoutout, whaaat! And to be linked with so many other awesome people. You da best.
You are so welcome, Aussa. I just LOVE your blog. Thank you for all the laughs. Congrats on your marriage and I pray that “The Mass” is nothing serious.
