SICK

“Christa Wojciechowski manages to sketch a deeply troubled, mentally ill individual, whilst simultaneously holding up the mirror and demonstrating that we are all, most certainly, sick in some profound way.”

~Joseph Sale

Susan Branch’s husband, John, is sick.

Charming and enigmatic, but very sick.

Born into wealth and prestige, John lost his family’s fortune to the mysterious illness that has now left him bedridden, and Susan’s life revolves around his care.

Years of devotion have left her exhausted and frustrated, yet she’s determined to scrape together whatever resources she can to keep John comfortable and happy—including stealing Demerol from the doctor’s office where she works to feed his growing dependence on painkillers.

As John’s condition continues to baffle doctors, Susan uncovers a secret from his childhood and the chilling cause of his illness.

Now that she knows the truth, can she put an end to the madness?

What Readers Are Saying

The depravity of this story makes you feel judgmental towards yourself but not caring because how great it is.

Shay

This is horror at its very best‚ intelligent and thought provoking. Christa pokes a stick at all the dark cavities of human nature. These characters and this relationship will haunt me.

Carrie Green

… a wise dramatization reflecting on the dark vulnerability of human nature.

Tantra Bensko

I enjoyed this series way more that I probably should have and would definitely be reading more by this author.

Petal

The title of this book is absolutely perfect. Not only does it describe the endless condition of one of the characters, but it also captures the essence of how the story makes you feel.”

Yolanda Stefanos

… dark, raw, and above all, SICK. It’s a peek behind closed doors and I read it in almost a voyeuristic fashion.
